Young Artists Initiative

Young Artists Initiative (YAI) is the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami’s selective youth arts development program. YAI connects young artists (9th through 12th grade) to the museum’s collection and local arts community through an immersive program that explores a different theme or practice each year. Participants are encouraged to look critically at contemporary art practices and are provided with opportunities to work directly with leading artists. At the end of the program, 10th through 12th grade students participate in a group exhibition of work created during the semester. Students are also offered additional opportunities including a field trip to Art Basel Miami Beach, scholarships, internships, and summer job opportunities.

YAI takes place after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 10th-12th grades and Wednesdays for 9th grade students. The program lasts approximately 18 weeks beginning in September and ending in March. Enrollment opens on the 1st of April through our website.
