ICA Miami stays up late on First Fridays, the museum’s signature after-hours event offering experiences for visitors of all ages—film screenings, exhibition tours, concerts, performances, and more! First Fridays at ICA Miami are free and open to the public. For our final First Fridays program of the season, ICA Miami welcomes Brooklyn-based producer Ayesha, multidisciplinary artist Tweaks, movement artist and healer Ke’Ron, and DJs Axine M and Roiju.

Ayesha (Brooklyn, NY)

Ayesha is a Brooklyn-based artist whose club productions trace an arc across techno, bass, and diasporic styles with devastating results. Ayesha’s brings together a love for manipulating found sounds and a knack for psychedelic sound design, channeling percussive techno rhythms and UK soundsystem pressure in equal measure. The result is heady, maximal body music tailored to the dancefloor.

Tweaks

Tweaks, aka Zoé Lawrence, is a multi-disciplinary artist, DJ, and film director.

Ke’ron (Brooklyn, NY)

Ke’Ron (she/they) is a movement artist, choreographer, and poet currently based out of Brooklyn, NY. A Sam Houston State University Alum, she has set and presented work and performed in the greater Houston Area. She was awarded Dance Source Houston’s Spark Dance Grant in 2021, and has most recently presented work as an emerging choreographer with Mare Nostrum’s Emerging Choreographer’s Series in NYC. Their art, being heavily influenced by their activism, pulls from a wide range of disciplines and seeks to cultivate a shared sensitivity towards the human condition. Each piece of poetry and movement exploration is designed to invite the audience into a realm in which mind, body, and spirit are unified toward personal and collective liberation.

Axine M

Taking her name from the ancient “unfriendly sea” of Greek mythology, Axine M explores sound across a variety of genres and electro-acoustic techniques. Sharp Life, her last self-released EP, probes the fragile nature of reality, lyrically exploring depression through collaboration with a combination of text-generating neural networks. She has released tapes on Toronto’s Summer Isle and Embalming Lately, a label that she co-runs. As a DJ, Axine M has published mixes with c-, BIZAARBAZAAR, FOIL, and recently, Anima Planet.

Roiju (Miami, FL)

Justin Roig, AKA Roiju is a 2nd-generation Cuban-American producer, DJ, visual artist, and programmer from Miami, FL.
