Brian Kuan Wood Lecture
ICA Miami welcomes New York-based writer and e-flux journal editor Brian Kuan Wood to the Art + Research Center for a free public lecture entitled “Numbers.”
From Wood: “Massive growth in computing power over the last few decades has turned economic activities and democratic processes into so-called ‘number games.’ Rather than opt-out of the game in search of a primal hobbit house in the shire, perhaps we should look more closely at the great power that numbers hold. Do numbers in fact reflect forces that are extremely difficult (or even impossible) to control?”
Brian Kuan Wood is a writer based in New York. He is an editor of e-flux journal and teaches at the Masters in Curatorial Practice program at the School of Visual Arts in New York. His writing have been included in numerous publications and catalogues.
