Culture Club Presents: Live Performance and Tour by artist Pepe Mar
Culture Club invites you for a voyage in time and music through the work of Miami-based Pepe Mar, hosted at David Castillo Gallery in the Miami Design District.
Join us for cocktails and an artist-led tour of Mar’s new solo exhibition, “My First 25,000 Years on Earth,” which coincides with the artist’s 25 years living in Miami. The show of mixed-media works features 25 key themes in Mar’s work, and is as wide-ranging as Miami itself. It often stars the artist’s alter-ego, Paprika, immersed in art history, fetish culture and shopping.
We will explore Mar’s work through his inquiry into gay life in Miami—and, in true Culture Club fashion, expect to be delighted by surprises that pay homage to the past 25 years and 3 signature eras of Miami’s gay club and music scene.
