Celebrating Narratives Fall 2022 Exhibition

A Dedication to the Self as Embodiment of Change

This fall, ICA’s Narratives Outreach Program brought Miami-based artist Agua Dulce to collaborate with middle and high school participants in partnership with Girl Power, Urgent Inc, and AMIKids Key Biscayne. Over the course of 7 weeks students were encouraged to investigate what they are grateful for by creating an assemblage discussing intention, manifestation, self-joy and gratitude as an homage to oneself. Participants used organic and accessible materials for our creative process and expanded their concepts of “fine” art beyond the traditional 2-dimensional practices of painting or photography. Discussing life, gratitude, intention, and nature as an accessible art form in itself.

ICA Narratives is a community arts program with the goal of increasing self-esteem and critical thinking skills by allowing participants to express their own narrative through creative work.

Exhibition on view \ Saturday, December 10 – Sunday, December 18th
