This October, as part of our Family Program, ICA Miami presents a series of short films that speak to the importance of connection and how sometimes the best memories are made up of the moments spent with loved ones. Journey through internationally curated family friendly short film selections, that have been celebrated in the NYICFF and many other film festivals from around the world!


These free family-friendly films are available to stream for Miami-Dade residents only.


Feature - The Kite

A little boy visits his old grandfather in the countryside and they fly a kite together. They are both made out of layers, which symbolize their age. The boy has many of these layers. He is perspective, because he has all his life before him. But grandfather, on the other hand, has already lost most of his layers and he has only few left. As he gets older, he also gets thinner, and at the end of his life, he is as thin as a sheet of paper. One day, the autumn wind blows him away and takes him up to the sky…

Short - Miles Away

Miles is a little boy whose best friend is a tree. Together they venture on a roadtrip and enjoy a perfect Summer day at the funfair. “Miles Away” is a short movie for kids, with one simple message: You’ll never be lonely or bored as long as you let your imagination lead the way.
