Pedro Reyes’s Baby Marx is a series of episodic videos in which Karl Marx and Adam Smith, the primary theorists of Marxism and Capitalism, have been reanimated as puppets. Visiting Che Guevara, Occupy Wall Street or the galleries of a museum, the historical puppets find humorous applications to their manifestoes. This project highlights Reyes’s work across diverse media, as well as the political interpretations of his Sanatorium installation, currently on view at ICA Miami.
