ICA Miami welcomes Mara Hoberman, an independent curator, art writer, and editor based in Paris, for a presentation on the exhibition “Michel Majerus: Progressive Aesthetics.” This first US museum survey explores the late artist’s prescient work by taking up his rich and varied interpretations of capitalism and cultural imperialism as they relate to art in American culture. Hoberman will discuss Majerus’s work in regards to consumer culture, art history, and branding strategies. Hoberman is also a contributor to the forthcoming monograph “Michel Majerus: Progressive Aesthetics,” to be published on the occasion of the exhibition.
