Saturday Art Prep classes: Drawing and Painting for 11 to 14 year olds
ICA Miami’s Saturday Art Prep classes are designed to help participants strengthen their art making skills in painting and drawing through traditional art educational methods. Using the museum’s exhibitions as a guide, students will experiment with contemporary approaches to art making.
Drawing and Painting for 11 to 14 year olds focuses on strengthening student’s foundational skills in both mediums while incorporating advanced methods such as perspective, shading, and more. Tours of ICA Miami’s exhibitions are incorporated into the curriculum so students can explore contemporary artistic practices. This class also prepares students and their artistic skills for ICA’s Summer Portfolio Prep. Portfolio Prep guides students in developing a competitive portfolio for the art school application process for the art-focused middle and high schools in the area.
Classes are held consecutively for 6 weeks Saturdays, April 12th through May 17th from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
Cost: $200 for non-members; $140 for Family Members and above.
