Germane Barnes: "The Agency of Architecture"
Architect and urban designer Germane Barnes explores the role of the architect and architecture in today’s intersectional environment. Barnes recounts his experiences growing up on the west side of Chicago, his formative education, and work within the city of Opa-locka, and asks: “Can the architect, once singularly viewed as the master builder, be held responsible for non-inclusive spaces?”
ICA Miami's digital video channel is made possible by the Knight Foundation, and positions artists at the center of the conversation, while expanding the museum's reach to meet a growing global audience by producing monthly exhibition stories, interviews, public lectures, and more.
