Institute of Contemporary Art Miami

Museum Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Update: April 15, 2020

“Prioritizing the health and safety of our community, the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami has temporarily closed its galleries and postponed scheduled programs.

One of ICA Miami’s key initiatives is our free admission policy, which is central to our mission to make contemporary art and ideas accessible to a diverse public. While we rely less on box office than other institutions, during this time our team is working tirelessly to ensure the ongoing sustainability of our funding sources during the economic slowdown.

Being committed to experimentation means that even while our galleries are closed, we are always looking for new, thoughtful and accessible ways to present innovative contemporary art. In times of social isolation and change, our artistic mission takes on even greater importance. It is our job to create the exchange of ideas through art and provide a platform for artists.

Working remotely, our team is focused on finalizing our forthcoming retrospective for Allan McCollum, which will open as soon as our museum resumes normal operations.

Over the past five years, ICA Miami has created a vast archive of original video building upon our exhibitions and programs. We continue to develop this original and engaging video — all of which is free and available to the public on our web site through our ICA Channel. Scholarship has no boundaries, and our curatorial staff continues to produce new publications, while our educators are expanding our dynamic online learning program so that students can engage in arts education curriculum from home.”

ICA Miami is Temporarily Closed

Given ongoing concern for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the health of our visitors and staff, ICA Miami is temporarily closing our galleries and Sculpture Garden. Stay connected for regular updates on our forthcoming events and programs on our website, social media, and our newsletters. Your safe enjoyment of the arts is our highest priority, and we look forward to welcoming you to ICA Miami and our programs soon.
