Allan McCollum: Constructed Painting
In this project, students will reference the system of patterns and textures in artist Allan McCollum’s “Constructed Paintings” to make their own artworks.
Since the late 1960s, artist and sculptor Allan McCollum has created works that examine the art object’s relationship to uniqueness, context, and value, and explores the idea of the collection to reveal how we remember, care for, and privilege various material artifacts.
