ICA Miami presents a limited-engagement performance of Company, Company, the Miami debut for the renowned French choreographer Jérôme Bel. Featuring a cast of local professionals and amateurs of diverse backgrounds and skill levels, Company, Company imagines choreography as a “flexible framework.” (Jérôme Bel)

Creating an accessible platform for dancers of all skill levels and celebrating the joy of creative expression, this reimagined approach to dance democratizes the genre for participants and viewers alike. The different dances do not ask the viewer for judgment or critique, but rather reveal each participant’s unique cultural experience and personal relationship to dance, and the shared desire in the work for joy, perfection, and transfiguration that are at the core of dance. Together the performers’ contributions create an “unqualifiable dance” that demonstrates multiple interpretations and models for performance and built a community both on and off stage.
