The Rituals of Carlos Sandoval de León
In advance of his first museum presentation at ICA Miami, artist Carlos Sandoval de León conceives three rituals for his new site-specific sculpture: joining his father’s daily journey to play the lottery; a reading of his installation’s birth chart by Miami astrologer Maria del Carmen Canales; and an intervention at Home Depot by the artist and his father. The artist’s engagement with each ritual is documented and presented as a three-channel composite video.
