This year, Family Fest includes live-action storytelling, a magical bubble show, and ocean-inspired art-making!

Family Sundays welcomes children of all abilities to engage in contemporary art through a variety of adapted activities connecting to the museum’s exhibitions.

On this occasion of “Ahmed Morsi in New York: Elegy of the Sea,” the first US solo institutional exhibition for the artist, we commissioned filmmaker collective Sandenwolff to create a video meditation on the artist, his paintings, and his poetry.

Artist Sam McKinniss invited filmmakers SandenWolff and ICA Miami to visit him in his Kent, CT studio. The short video that results provides a look into the artist’s process culling inspiration from popular culture, the entertainment industry, sports, and the internet.

“I’m trying to create a world that doesn’t exist.” Says Los Angeles-based artist Emma Webster on her recent work using Virtual Reality and 3D technology to paint otherworldly landscapes.

This season, Dr. Donna Honarpisheh will explore the works of three conceptual artists: Charles Gaines, stanley brouwn, and David Medalla.
