Family Sundays at ICA Miami

Family Sundays at ICA Miami
ICA Miami’s Family Sundays series welcomes children of all abilities to engage with contemporary art through activities inspired by the museum’s exhibitions. The free, one-hour workshops engage families in hands-on art-making and creativity through storytelling, music, movement or art making (rotating weekly). Recommended for children enrolled Pre-K to 2nd grade.
No unattended children; parents/guardians are required to stay with their child.
Reserved tickets are required; tickets are available until 11:45 am on the day of the workshop.
May 3rd – Artmaking with Instructor Asia Perrotti
Inspired by Manoucher Yektai’s richly textured paintings, young artists will explore layered materials and bold mark-making techniques. Using brushes, sponges, and unexpected tools, participants will create their own dense landscapes and nature-inspired artworks, discovering how different mediums interact on the page.
May 17th - Storytelling with Ms. Krystal
Join us for an engaging, interactive story time inspired by themes of nature, identity, and belonging in Manoucher Yektai’s work. Through music, movement, and imaginative storytelling, children and caregivers will explore these ideas in age-appropriate ways while making connections to the paintings on view.
May 31st - Music & Movement with Paloma Dueñas
In this movement-based session, children will use their bodies to explore the shapes, rhythms, and energy found in Yektai’s paintings. Guided by music, families will stretch like branches, sway like leaves, and create expressive movements inspired by line, texture, and gesture. This joyful experience encourages creativity, coordination, and a deeper connection to the natural world.
