Family Sundays at ICA Miami

Family Sundays at ICA Miami
ICA Miami’s Family Sundays series welcomes children of all abilities to engage with contemporary art through activities inspired by the museum’s exhibitions. The free, one-hour workshops engage families in hands-on art-making and creativity through storytelling, music, movement or art making (rotating weekly). Recommended for children enrolled Pre-K to 2nd grade.
No unattended children; parents/guardians are required to stay with their child.
Reserved tickets are required; tickets are available until 11:45 am on the day of the workshop.
May Family Sunday Schedule:
May 31st - Music & Movement with Paloma Dueñas
In this movement-based session, children will use their bodies to explore the shapes, rhythms, and energy found in Yektai’s paintings. Guided by music, families will stretch like branches, sway like leaves, and create expressive movements inspired by line, texture, and gesture. This joyful experience encourages creativity, coordination, and a deeper connection to the natural world.
June Family Sunday Schedule:
June 7th - Storytelling with Ms. Krystal
Join us for an engaging, interactive story time inspired by the landscapes, flowers, and expressive brushstrokes found in Manoucher Yektai’s paintings. Through rhythm, movement, and imaginative storytelling, children and caregivers will explore themes of nature, memory, and self-expression while making connections to the artwork on view.
June 14th - Music & Movement with Paloma Dueñas
Inspired by the bold brushstrokes and energetic surfaces in Manoucher Yektai’s paintings, children will explore fast and slow movements, repeated gestures, and rhythmic patterns through guided dance and creative play. Families will respond to the artist’s expressive style by turning lines, shapes, and texture into movement using the whole body.
June 28th - Music & Movement with Paloma Dueñas
Embody the trees, flowers, and landscapes found throughout Yektai’s work, families will move through a nature-inspired journey filled with stretching, swaying, growing, and drifting motions. Guided by music and imagination, participants will explore how movement can reflect the feeling and energy of the natural world.
