ICA Miami will host a one-day symposium on anti-Blackness and resistance in the Americas, in dialogue with the museum’s current exhibition, “Paulo Nazareth: Melee.” The event brings together critical voices observing social marginalization, political agency and cultural production throughout the Americas. Among the presenters are: Dr. Juliet Hooker, Professor of Political Science at Brown University; Dr. João H. Costa Vargas, Professor at the University of California, San Diego; and Dr. Jafari S. Allen, Director of University of Miami’s Africana Studies Program and Assistant Professor of Anthropology.
