Start your Miami Art Week with a inspiring breakfast celebrating Miami’s next generation of creative thinkers, and a private tour of the museum’s inaugural exhibitions featuring the most important emerging and established artists of our time.

Followed by conversation by Diane Solway, Director of Art and Culture, W Magazine, with Adrienne Gaither, Lynnie Z and Matthew Angelo Harrison.

Adrienne Gaither is a Washington, D.C. based visual artist whose work focuses on identity and black imagination—utilizing geometric abstraction, color theory, archival photos and collected objects. She attempts to highlight the struggle between what we believe we see, what we want to see, and what is actually there to be seen. Gaither has exhibited at Strathmore in Bethesda, MD, The National African American Museum and Cultural Museum in Wilberforce, OH, PRIZM Art Fair at Miami Art Basel, and MoCADA in Brooklyn, NY. Her works are published in D’ailleurs et d’ici and showcased in both public and private collections.

Born and raised in the wilds of the Scottish Borders—into a creative family with strong African links—Lynnie Z was instilled with a fascination of people and cultures at an early age. Now in London, her distinctive style is marked by bold, bright color palettes and playful charismatic characters. These mysterious, seductive creatures and powerful femme fatales are brought to life using ink, paint and paint pens. Lynnie studied illustration at Kingston University and has exhibited in the UK, Europe and the US. Over the years, Lynnie has collaborated with numerous high-profile clients, including MAC Cosmetics, Absolut Vodka, Nike, Taschen, Monki and Sony.

Matthew Angelo Harrison (b. 1989, Detroit, MI) completed his BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2012. Harrison has received solo shows at Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit in 2016 and Atlanta Contemporary in 2017. His work has also been included in a number of group exhibitions including, “Take Me (I’m Yours),” curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist, Jens Hoffman and Kelly Taxter at the Jewish Museum, New York, “The Politics of Portraiture” at Jessica Silverman Gallery, San Francisco and “Ever get the feeling we’re not alone in this world?,” What Pipeline, Detroit. He is currently preparing for several exhibitions including, “Fictions” at The Studio Museum in Harlem in September, “The Everywhere Studio” at ICA Miami in December and a solo show at the University of Michigan Institute for the Humanities in Spring of 2018. Harrison is represented by Jessica Silverman Gallery in San Francisco.
