Senga Nengudi (b. 1943, Chicago) is an artist working across mediums, often celebrated for her delicate, interactive sculptures made using pantyhose and other readymade materials. This publication accompanies the artist’s 2017 installation at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami, which highlighted “Wet Night—Early Dawn—Scat Chant—Pilgrim’s Song,” originally created in 1996 and reprised for this exhibition. This publication expands upon that presentation by bringing to light rarely seen works by Nengudi from the 1990s, including drawings, sculptures, and immersive installations.
