ICA Miami is pleased to present a two-day talk and workshop by writer/educator Suhail Malik. Malik will discuss transitions in the market of contemporary art, what it means for those involved, and what advantages it may present for those who are currently not beneficiaries of the art market. Malik will then conduct an interactive, practice-oriented workshop drawing heavily on concepts discussed during his talk. This program is presented in conjunction with Suhail Malik’s residency at Cannonball, a Miami-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting artists, and to advancing critical discourse around contemporary art practice.
Suhail Malik is Visiting Faculty for 2012–2015 at the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard, New York, and Programme Co-Director of the MFA Fine Art, Goldsmiths, London, where he holds a Readership in Critical Studies.
